Chicago’s King of the Street events – known by most everybody simply as KOTS – always bring out some insane hotrods to compete for the purse and, possibly of greater value, bragging rights. One of the contenders in this year’s “Gangster” class was this nitrous-snorting big block Chevy powered Mustang dubbed, quite appropriately, Crazy Horse! Wheeled by Aaron Stapleton, Crazy Horse showed up and showed out, as you can see in this short video!
In the first round, Crazy Horse takes on another nitrous-injected Mustang – this one of the fox body variety – and walks away with an easy win after the fox has traction issues on the tricky no-prep surface. In round number two, you can hear the huge bowtie powerplant stumble when Stapleton hammers the throttle, but his quick thinking kept the engine from dying completely and, despite launching late and from an idle, he drives around the competition for the win. In the finals, the completion is a well-known KOTS heavyweight known as The Grinch. This time, Crazy Horse encounters the slightest traction issue right off the line, and that’s all The Grinch needed to take the win in what was still a fairly close race.
