When working in the garage, you want to make sure that all of your tools are up to par. Sometimes, this comes in obvious steps like cleaning up and making sure all of your wrenches are somewhat clean when you put them away but other times, it comes in daily maintenance items that might not seem so apparent like keeping your air compressor drained. It might not seem like a big deal but when it all escalates over time, sometimes, it can get to a point where something becomes downright dangerous to use.
This time, we take a peek inside of the compressor that hasn’t been drained and, as a result of being left has become structurally inoperable, meaning that it probably wouldn’t be such a great idea to use this tank because it could blow out at any minute. To see just how bad the damage is, this video uploader takes it upon himself to cut into the tank and see what the inside looks like.
As he breaks out the grinder and goes to work, cutting a section out of the compressor tank, we see inside and it isn’t too pretty as there happens to be rust galore, coating every surface and further reinforcing the fact that this tank probably shouldn’t be used again. According to the man behind the camera, you never know what’s going to happen whether it be a small pinhole leak or an explosion that sends shrapnel everywhere, injuring anyone who happens to be in the garage at the time.
Check out the video below that takes us inside of this compressor to show us what it’s all about. It actually ends up being quite an entertaining lesson in safety that may have you checking out some of the tools more closely that you use on a regular basis. What is your take on what this guy ended up finding inside of his compressor?
